The Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA) addresses the prevalence of misleading information online through the development of technical standards for certifying the source of media content. C2PA is a Joint Development Foundation project, formed through an alliance between Adobe, Arm, Intel, Microsoft and Truepic.
C2PA unifies the efforts of the Adobe-led Content Authenticity Initiative (CAI) which focuses on systems to provide context and history for digital media, and Project Origin, a Microsoft- and BBC-led initiative that tackles disinformation in the digital news ecosystem.
Alexander Leschinsky, CIO at G&L, underlines the vital importance of C2PA's activities
"In an era where digital content can be effortlessly created and manipulated, distinguishing between genuine and counterfeit media has never been more vital. At G&L, we recognize the importance of safeguarding the integrity and trustworthiness of the content that our customers, particularly public broadcasters, deliver to their audiences. By joining C2PA, we are committing to a future where the origin and processing of media content can be unequivocally verified. This alignment not only reinforces our dedication to innovation and excellence but also equips our customers with the tools they need to assure their viewers of the authenticity of their content. The digital landscape is evolving, and with the implementation of C2PA standards, G&L stands at the forefront, ensuring our customers can navigate this new terrain with confidence and credibility."
