C2PA COMPLIANCE

Protect your content’s integrity

Overview

G&L enables you to achieve C2PA compliance

In an era where digital content can be effortlessly created and manipulated, distinguishing between genuine and fake media has never been more vital. Whether you’re a broadcaster, news agency, or content creator, the risk of manipulated media is ever-present. The Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA) addresses this by developing technical standards for certifying the source of media content.

Fast-track your C2PA implementation in production

Enhance the authenticity of your media with cryptographic verification, using production-grade, commercially supported SDKs, libraries, and services, powered by Truepic and seamlessly integrated by G&L Systemhaus.

Key advantages

G&L’s CEO Alexander Leschinsky on the C2PA implementation:

"It has always been G&L's focus to take international standards and bring them into production life. With C2PA, we are now supporting an initiative that goes well beyond our traditional realm of content distribution."

Complete Solutions

  • From software to infrastructure, we handle every detail – efficiently and cost-effectively.

Rapid Implementation

  • Our proven solutions enable fast and reliable C2PA integration, empowering broadcasters and agencies to stay ahead in a fast-paced market.

Trusted by Leaders

  • G&L and Truepic have been trusted for decades by leading media companies in Europe and the US.

Content Integrity Across Platforms

  • When distributing content across social media and digital platforms, metadata can be stripped during the process. C2PA’s integration of digital watermarking ensures that its provenance remains intact.

Optimization & Reliability

  • Open-source solutions often lag behind and lack comprehensive support. In partnership with Truepic, G&L provides a reliable, optimized solution.

Technical specifications

Storage of Manifests

Internal Metadata
C2PA manifests are embedded directly into media files using formats like JUMBF (JPEG Universal Metadata Box Format) or other media-specific formats (e.g., MP4 for video). This ensures that the metadata remains attached to the media file throughout its lifecycle, offering robust protection against metadata being stripped or altered.
Storage of Manifests

External Metadata
C2PA manifests are stored externally, providing flexibility for workflows where embedding metadata internally may not be feasible. In this case, the metadata travels with the file as a separate, associated component.
Hard Bindings The standard supports strong, cryptographic links that uniquely identify the asset or portions of it.
Soft Bindings The standard supports using perceptual hashes or content fingerprints to allow derived or modified versions to retain provenance data.
Several File Formats C2PA supports embedding manifests in
Images:
JPEG, JPEG XL, PNG, SVG, GIF, DNG, TIFF, WebP, HEIF
Audio: FLAC, MP3, WAV, BWF, AAC, ALAC
Video: MP4, MOV, AVI
Documents: PDF, EPUB, OOXML, OpenDocument, OpenXPS
Other: Fonts, ZIP-based formats, BMFF-based formats
Digital Watermarking Watermark Action: A signal that a watermark has been embedded in the asset, allowing tools to recognize and recover the original provenance data.
Standardized Algorithms: C2PA includes support for various watermarking algorithms to ensure interoperability across platforms and vendors.
Soft Binding API: An API that allows platforms to recover lost manifests by detecting the embedded watermark, thus maintaining content authenticity even when the manifest is no longer present.
