At G&L, we are committed to pushing the boundaries of audio and video content delivery. Today, we're pleased to share our collaboration with Green Streaming, where we will serve as an Associated Project Partner, focusing on CDN-related matters.
Technologies and solutions for energy-efficient and sustainable video streaming
This project, supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, delves into how technically more efficient video streaming can pave the way for a more energy-efficient and environmentally sustainable streaming value chain.
Collaborating partners include Fraunhofer FOKUS, Deutsche Telekom, RBB, LOGIC media, KlimAktiv, and DeepVA/The Chainless.
In an era marked by the exponential growth of video streaming services, Green Streaming is deeply committed to examining the energy efficiency and sustainability throughout the entire streaming value chain.
The project's objective is to analyze and optimize all components, ranging from A/V encoders to content delivery networks and end-user devices. Leveraging machine learning and artificial intelligence, a 'green, digital twin' of the streaming value chain is being developed. This will aid in determining the optimal system parameters for sustainable operation and environmentally friendly consumption of streaming content.
